After-school art lessons on mondays
I will organize after-school art lessons for children aged about 5 to 8 years.
Location: Crafts room of CMS de Abeel (Abeelstraat 30, The Hague)
Time: 2.50 pm Walk-in, time for something to drink/eat. The class is from 3:15 PM to 4:30 PM.
Costs: €150 per period of 8 lessons. There will be 4 periods in the year between the major holidays. This includes costs for material and for a drink and bite to eat at the start.
Trial lesson: Contact me to see what is possible. Some lessons consist of a series of 2, so not every Monday is suitable.
These lessons are perfect for children who love crafts. Every week I bring new materials and techniques into the mix. A few topics that may be discussed are: making paper, cardboard connections, sewing figures, creating moving figures, printing techniques. The lessons generally start with investigating how a technique works or what you can do with a material, practicing a bit and then working on a (art) work. Some lessons will be just experimentation, other lessons will be more about collaboration.
Children from Abeel or Valkenbos can come to the classroom independently straight from school. Children who are at 2Giraffes can come from there and return to 2Giraffes after class. If your child attends another school, he/she can join at 3:15 PM.

Do you want to register your child or do you want more information?

Why these lessons and workshops?

A few years ago I completed the BIK (Professional Artist in the Classroom) training. Since then I have been giving art lessons and workshops through Haags KunstAtelier (HKA), through KICKS (activities at 2Samen), I have been involved in the children's art program of the ITGWO festival on Vlieland and I now want to offer after-school lessons in my own way. I really enjoy experimenting with new materials and techniques and I really enjoy doing this together with children. I hope to inspire children and get them involved in this in an accessible way.
